Good Speech. But I have few things to quote. I believe that you are well aware that every argument has a counter argument and you love having a counter argument .And I start my argument with a quote"To Settle an argument think of what is right, not who is right".Now I also agree to the Fact "Idukan kalaivatham natpu".The word Friend itself stands only to those who are Passing clouds of your life but once a Person becomes Best Friend you consider him as a kin not a kith.I hope you will admit the fact that you will happy for your wards if they can do something which you cannot.To an extent for your friend also.But I hope you clearly understand the Difference between Both. NR I's like you don't come to India for your wards to see your friends but to show these people are your Kin.When you go back from India 'Your Parents prays for safe Journey but your friend will move on with his own Life(He has his own life too,Because he is not alone!)'.Since you did your college in Madras I'll quote.You would have addressed your Friends Parents as 'Appa,Amma' and a Friend as 'Macha ,Mama'.Can you explain the reason behind it.When you were about the age of 3 or so your mom would have introduced only very close people as Relative and it goes on you start differentiating between kith and kin.But still when you see your friend's parents you feel something that makes you have a strong bond between them .That is relationship.H.L.Mencken says "Every man sees in his relatives, and especially in his cousins, a series of grotesque caricatures of himself".Bringing is out one's caricatures is an Art and only a Relative who follows you all way through your life Knows it but a Friend never understands to it.Saying all this I don't Friendship is bad but I say the 'Status Quo' b/w Friends and Relatives was never anti and should never be made anti which may Lead to serious consequences. This is my Counter argument.That's all No Offence over your Speech.Every Line was beating the Title bush Perfectly.
